The Hurricane Law Group has taken legal action against the Citizens Property Insurance Corporation in a case involving insured Miami-Dade and Broward county residents for window damage caused by Hurricane Wilma.
According to the Hurricane Law Group, Citizens allegedly failed to pay or properly adjust claims in the two counties and ignored Florida Building Codes requirements, which states that hurricane damaged windows must be replaced by high impact glass or non-impact glass along with a hurricane shutter.
Citizen's policyholders were paid only for simple glass window replacements.
