A former Baltimore police officer and a former CompManagement, Inc. employee have been charged with felony theft, felony insurance fraud, and conspiracy.

According to a release from Maryland's Attorney General J. Joseph Curran, Jr., former officer Andre Stover conspired with Natalie Mack to steal approximately $153,000 in fraudulent workers' compensation benefits checks. The indictment proposes that Mack issued these checks in exchange for a percentage of the proceeds, with the alleged thefts occurred between May of 2003 and April of 2004. As a result, Stover was charged with felony theft and Mack was charged with felony insurance fraud and conspiracy.

The charges came from a joint investigation by the Insurance Fraud Division of the Maryland Insurance Administration and the Attorney General's Office. If convicted, Mack and Stover could face up to 15 years in prison each for the felony charges. No trial date has been set.
