The suit alleges GM provided driver data to brokers who created reports of individuals' driving history and sold them to insurance companies to charge higher premiums.
"A plain reading of the policy provides that the parties intended to exclude coverage for COVID-19 related losses like the losses plaintiff allegedly suffered in the immediate case," the court said.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit has joined courts across the country in siding with an insurer against businesses trying to recoup profits lost during the COVID-19 pandemic.
