Many of the 2025 IIHS Top Safety Picks rank poorly for reliability by Consumer Reports, according to a new report from CarEdge.

The report compared the two different rankings and found, of this year’s 48 IIHS safety picks, only 18 have a reliability score of higher than 50 (out of 100). Eleven of the cars have scores of 30 or lower. The Rivian R1S, a Top Safety Pick+ winner, has a reliability score of just nine.
