Travelers reports that in 2023, the most common reasons they received for wedding insurance claims were:

• Vendor issues (45%): This includes issues like the wedding planner failing to fulfill their duties, the closure of a venue or the photographer failing to show up.
• Property damage (18%): Property damage at weddings could include things like a damaged dance floor, a gift table sent tumbling or broken stemware.
• Illness or injury (14%): Health can be even harder to predict than the weather, and occasionally an illness or injury may interrupt a wedding.
• Weather (12%): In these cases, an extreme or catastrophic weather event interrupted the ceremony or reception.
• Military deployment (6%): Unexpected military deployments can throw a wrinkle in wedding plans.
• Other (5%): These claims include things like special wedding attire not arriving on time or the ring bearer losing the rings.
