When multiple disasters occur together such as hurricanes in one area and wildfires in another, or storms occur in rapid succession, the ability of companies to provide enough insurance adjusters to review the many resulting claims becomes difficult.

Thousands of adjusters may be needed to visit claim sites and assess the damage associated with a single loss event. This increased demand for adjusters after a natural disaster means that some adjusters travel from their home states to lend a hand.

However, many states require adjusters to be licensed in order to practice there.
