AF Group, the commercial, specialty and workers’ comp insurer based in Lansing, Mich., reportedly experienced website outages and glitches for several days before releasing a recent statement indicating the carrier suffered a cybersecurity incident that impacted its systems.

The insurer’s website remained offline at press time.

AF Group customers and partners are advised to communicate with the carrier via telephone or email, the Lansing CBS affiliate WLNS-TV reported.

There was no evidence that policyholder records were compromised in the incident, the carrier said. Its IT and cyber-forensic experts continue to investigate the issue. The insurer’s nurse triage/telemedicine program also remains unaffected.

AF Group agents can submit an ACORD application via email to their business development team, which will complete an intake form. To bind a policy, agents should submit a bind order to the business development team or the underwriting team member who provided the quote.

To report a claim, agents should call 1-866-206-5851 or email completed First Report of Injury documents to ClaimsExpress@accidentfund.com.

The carrier said there are issues with payment confirmation, but policies will not become delinquent if payments are delayed due to system issues. A 30-day grace period for payments is in effect.
