State Farm's Super Bowl ad takes top spot in national poll
The ‘Like A Good Neighbaaa’ commercial reunited ‘Twins’ co-stars Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The reunion of “Twins” co-stars Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger in State Farm’s Super Bowl 58 had powerful sway among viewers, with the insurance carrier’s commercial receiving the highest score in USA Today’s Ad Meter, a live poll conducted during the big game.
In the minute-long spot, Schwarzenegger struggles to deliver the insurance carrier’s “Like a Good Neighbor” tagline while acting out various feats of heroics on a film set. As the former governor struggles to say the line through his signature Austrian accent, DeVito is brought in to deliver the line and save the day. State Farm Agent Jake, who ranked as the sixth most popular insurance mascot in 2022, is also featured in the ad.
The “Like a Good Neighbaa” commercial scored 6.68, beating out Dunkin’ Donuts’ star-studded ad, which scored 6.52 on the Ad Meter. The USA Today Ad Meter uses a 10-point scale.
The carrier’s commercial was directed by Jim Jenkins. His past work includes AT&T’s Martin Scorsese commercial and Bud Light’s “Ye Olde Pep Talk” spot, which introduced the phrase “Dilly Dilly” into the modern lexicon.
