Insurance agents and brokers who work with big-rig drivers often field questions about how insurance premiums vary from one state to the next. With those questions in mind, BravoPolicy LLC, an independent insurance agency, recently looked at data compiled by Progressive Insurance to determine the states where truck drivers will pay the lowest average insurance premiums. Note that the BravoPolicy LLC rankings highlighted in the slideshow above would apply to a driver whose routes are strictly intrastate. However the agency went one step further and provided information about how much drivers in those same states would pay should they begin transporting loads across state lines. The rankings are based on a driver who is 40 years old with a clean driving record and median insurance credit score, driving an 8-year-old vehicle worth $40,000 and hauling a trailer worth $22,000. The coverage includes $1 million of primary liability insurance with $1,000 deductibles for comprehensive and collision coverage. See also: |
