Alliant Insurance Services raises more than $3.16M for communities in need

Company employees also put in more than 1,880 volunteer hours as part of the charity initiative.

During its annual World Food Derby competition, which raises funds for communities in need, Alliant Insurance Services raised more than $3.16 million in combined cash, food and essential item donations.

Company employees also put in more than 1,880 volunteer hours as part of the initiative.

The World Food Derby program coincided with World Food Day, which commemorates the founding of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization. Held each year on October 16, the initiative is celebrated in more than 150 countries and aims to raise awareness for issues driving poverty and hunger. Alliant has participated in the intuitive for 14 years, and has already started planning its involvement for 2023.

Diana Kiehl, chief administrative officer of Alliant and head of the company’s philanthropy program, said in a release: “This year Alliant employees broke our previous record, providing us the opportunity to reach further and help even more. Giving back to the community has long been an essential component of Alliant culture.”

In addition to its support of World Food Day, the company also runs the annual, nationwide cancer fundraiser #AlliantStandsUp as well as giving and matching programs.
