One thing may strike you about this list of top-rated home insurance companies compiled by Forbes and Statista: The biggest and most lucrative among them are not necessarily at the very top of the list. Instead of size, longevity or amount of premiums written, this second annual list of "America's Best Home Insurance Companies" took into account how policyholders feel about each insurer's financial advice, customer service, transparency, digital services, price, performance, damage, benefit and whether survey respondents would recommend the company to friends and family. Roughly 15,000 respondents helped determine which insurers came away with the highest overall-satisfaction ratings. Forbes is quick to point out that this survey was conducted with consumers in mind and doesn't necessarily take into account how insurance companies are responding to some of the difficult aspects of the current business climate such as inflation, hiring challenges or unpredictable natural disasters. "Insurers are trying to hold the line as everything they pay for goes up," American Property Casualty Insurance Association Vice President David Snyder told Forbes. "It makes for a challenging environment." Related: |
