PCF Insurance Services acquired Florida-based insurance broker Apple Insurance and Financial Services. Apple Insurance is a well-known individual health and Medicare insurance agency based in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, offering access to Florida Blue, a top carrier in the space.
Duck Creek Technologies announced continued investment and expansion in the Asia-Pacific region. As part of this investment, Duck Creek’s APAC regional product development team has released the first of many planned software packages and implementation accelerators localized for the New Zealand insurance market.
NFP announced a $1 million investment in the MDI Keeper’s Fund, L.P., sponsored by the National Bankers Association. The Fund is a national MDI capital fund that primarily lends or facilitates lending to small businesses in low- and moderate-income (LMI) areas or to LMI individuals to promote community and economic development and generate job growth.
Sigma7 acquired Intelligence Fusion, a Durham, U.K.-based data and software solutions business whose transformative technology provides intelligence-community grade, client-specific security and threat information. Sigma7 is a portfolio company of Growth Catalyst Partners. Intelligence Fusion was acquired from The Finance Durham Fund, which is administered by Maven Capital Partners.
University of South Florida’s Muma College of Business and BRP Group, Inc. announced a $5.2 million commitment from the company and the Baldwin family to the university’s School of Risk Management and Insurance in the Muma College of Business. The gift, which is the largest in USF’s Sarasota-Manatee campus history, will support educational programs in the risk and insurance fields, and the university will rename the existing School of Risk Management and Insurance as the “Baldwin Risk Partners School of Risk Management and Insurance.”
Iowa Insurance Hall of Fame announced this year’s inductees. This is the 25th anniversary of the Iowa Insurance Hall of Fame. To be eligible for consideration, nominees must have an Iowa connection, serve as a role model for young people as well as others in the insurance business, exhibit the highest standards of ethical conduct and have significantly impacted the insurance industry. An induction ceremony for the 2022 honorees will be held at 5 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 18 at The Meadows Event Center in Altoona, Iowa. Registrations for the event are open until Oct. 11.
