Alera Group acquired Jowers-Sklar Insurance, an independent insurance agency specializing in property & casualty insurance with customers throughout Georgia and the southeast.

Insurance Group of America and the Westfield Insurance Foundation joined to support One Generation Away and its mission of providing easy access to healthy, high-quality foods to communities in Middle Tennessee, Northern Alabama and the Florida panhandle. The grant, provided through the Westfield Insurance Foundation’s Legacy of Caring Program, is intended to help families or businesses stabilize or recover from disasters.

Semsee launched Appetite Checker, a new resource that enables agents and small business owners to obtain real-time market appetite from insurance carriers, MGAs and MGUs. The tool, available on Semsee’s website, is open to all for free, and not limited to Semsee users. It currently checks risk appetite for business owners policies with Semsee-integrated carriers and will continue to expand to include additional lines and carriers.

U.S. Department of Labor selected Zurich North America as an Apprenticeship Ambassador for recognition of the company’s exemplary apprenticeship program, which enables people representing diverse backgrounds and experiences to launch careers in insurance while earning a college degree. The DOL’s Apprenticeship Ambassador designation recognizes Zurich’s leadership in helping to modernize, diversify and expand registered apprenticeships across the country.

At-Bay launched its miscellaneous professional liability product, becoming the first to offer an automatically underwritten policy that customizes coverage and pricing across more than 50 diverse classes of business.

IMA Financial Group and York International Agency, LLC, a privately owned, Top 100 insurance brokerage based in Harrison, New York, announced on August 4, 2022 a strategic partnership. Effective immediately, York will join the IMA Financial Group of companies.

PCF Insurance acquired Professional Warranty Service Corporation, a specialty insurance and home warranty company based in Chantilly, Virginia. Founded in 1995, PWSC is a nationally recognized provider of risk management solutions specializing in the new home construction and property management industries. As a managing general agent, PWSC provides expertise, products and services to builders, insurance carriers, brokers, agents, property management firms, homeowners and renters.

The Liberty Company Insurance Brokers partnered with Lennon Insurance Services of Wakefield, Rhode Island. As the firm continues to grow, this will be Liberty’s first partnership in the state of Rhode Island.

Verisk revised its ISO Businessowners Program with nearly 60 new optional endorsements added, revisions to dozens of existing endorsements and changes to the base coverage form. In addition, the ISO Businessowners classifications are being enhanced with the addition of more than 160 new classes and the expansion, consolidation and elimination of some existing classes. Collectively, these updates are designed to provide added flexibility during underwriting and help insurers address some of the new and emerging risk exposures that confront today’s businesses.

Ahoy!, the digital insurance MGA for recreational boating, announced August 8, 2022, that coverage is available to boaters in New York — who can now take advantage of policies that are tailored for the needs of modern boaters.

Sapiens International Corporation deployed Sapiens Intelligence by Old Mutual Insure, South Africa’s oldest insurance company. Sapiens’ solution will provide an enterprise-wide consolidated view of the organization’s data and support its reporting and analytics needs.

Synatic partnered with Relativity6 to leverage data integration and automation to enhance industry detection technology – helping insurance carriers accelerate their underwriting processes. Betterview partnered with the National Fire Protection Association, a non-profit organization devoted to eliminating death, injury, property and economic loss due to fire, electrical and related hazards, focused on helping insurers in California adhere to the state’s pending “Safer from Wildfire” legislation and leveraging insights on community-based wildfire mitigation through the NFPA’s Firewise USA recognition program.

Hilb Group announced that, effective July 1, 2022, it has partnered with Massachusetts-based Lighthouse Insurance Agency, further building on the company’s presence throughout New England.

Cannon Cochran Management Services, Inc. has innovated its claims management process by implementing Gradient AI‘s solution, reducing workers’ compensation claims costs by about 10%.
