Two days left to nominate: 2022 Agency of the Year Award
The best insurance agents know their work is about more than selling policies.
Being an insurance agent may sometimes feel like thankless work, but one industry watcher believes that some insurance professionals are nothing short of “legendary.”
In a recent blog post, David Duford, head of the Duford Insurance Group, provides a rundown of seven such iconic insurance agents.
“The best insurance agents know that their work is not only about the policies they are trying to sell,” Duford writes. “It’s most of all about people and relationships.”
His list of legendary agents includes:
- Mehdi Fakharzadeh (1922–2019), who, in his time, was reportedly a top salesman at MetLife. He also penned the insurance-industry sales tomes “Nothing is Impossible” (1978) and “Everything is Possible” (1998); and
- Peter Rosengard, who once landed in the Guinness Book of Records for selling the world’s largest life insurance policy (to music executive David Geffen).
P&C insurance is special
This is what makes independent retail insurance agencies special, and the reason we rejoice each year in honoring three of them as part of the our Agency of the Year Award program.
