Auto and home insurer MAPFRE USA is celebrating its 50th anniversary. The firm was founded in 1972 as the Commerce Insurance Company, which was purchased by global insurance group MAPFRE S.A. in 2008. Today the company operates in 12 states, employs more than 2,000 people and reported $2.05 billion in total written premiums during 2021.

Beazley extended its Safeguard product to the Australian market. Beazley Safeguard is designed to help clients reduce the risk of abuse within their organization, but also to respond effectively if an incident does occur. Alongside advanced insurance coverage, it provides critical prevention and crisis response services as standard, reducing the risk of such incidents occurring in the first place and responding quickly and appropriately when they do.

RMS released four new High Definition models, including Europe Windstorm, North America Winterstorm, North America Severe Convective Storm and Terrorism. RMS HD Models represent the next generation of risk modeling, delivering deeper analysis and granularity from Moody’s. The HD probabilistic models incorporate a high-fidelity, simulation-based framework for modeling event frequency and severity, to provide a major step forward in the quality of catastrophe risk quantification. The framework allows for event footprints to be represented more realistically across larger event sets.

Liberty Company Insurance Brokers partnered with Performance Health of Avon Lake, Ohio.

Loadsure partnered with Burns & Wilcox, an independent insurance wholesaler and MGA operation in North America. Burns & Wilcox will offer Loadsure’s AI-powered trip transit insurance coverage to independent brokers across Canada, giving them access to dynamically priced, pay-as-you-go, all-risk smart coverage and automated claims — on a platform that takes just forty seconds to secure coverage.

SecurityHQ partnered with cybersecurity solutions provider, SentinelOne. SecurityHQ’s Managed Endpoint Security Service leverages the power of their global Security Operation Centers, combined with SentinelOne’s best technology for detecting known signature-based and unknown behavioural-based threats, across all known MITRE ATT&CK TTPs.

Sedgwick acquired Orchid Medical, a nationwide provider of ancillary medical management solutions for the workers’ compensation industry.

Alera Group acquired West Michigan Insurance Inc., a property & casualty insurance agency based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with office locations in Shelby, Michigan, and Hart, Michigan. Founded in 1924, West Michigan Insurance brings a vast array of insurance and risk management knowledge to the marketplace. They offer personal and commercial insurance programs, with designated experts in restaurants, farm & crop, non-profit, construction and commercial trucking.

ERGO‘s partnership with MaLiBu — the consultancy firm owned by Professor Markus Lienkamp, Chair of Automotive Technology at the Technical University of Munich – was given the green light. The MTC will provide services for the development of innovative automotive insurance products and risk management solutions, placing a focus on electromobility, automated and autonomous driving, new mobility concepts, and digital and integrated services. Clients from automotive, mobility and insurance companies in Germany and abroad will be able to take advantage of the MTC’s offerings.
