With the holidays fast approaching and plans to visit friends and family are being finalized, those looking to cover their trips have a slew of questions regarding the potential impact of COVID-19 and how travel insurance might respond. Although travel plans abound, people are still holding reservations regarding the pandemic. Insuremytrip.com reported 86% of consumers are concerned with having to cancel a trip because of travel changes around COVID-19 requirements. Further, 61% said they are concerned they'll have to cancel a trip out of fear of contracting COVID-19. This comes on the heel of news from AAA that more than 53 million people are expected to travel for the Thanksgiving holiday, an increase of 13% compared with 2020. "This Thanksgiving, travel will look a lot different than last year," Paula Twidale, senior vice president, AAA Travel, said in a release. "Now that the borders are open and new health and safety guidelines are in place, travel is once again high on the list for Americans who are ready to reunite with their loved ones for the holiday." The above slideshow highlights the top questions on the minds of travel insurance policyholders, according to Insuremytrip.com. Related: |
