Hippo partnered with Ally Financial Inc. subsidiary, Motors Insurance Corp., in a deal that will double the former's underwriting capacity. The agreement also enables Hippo to enhance its underwriting capabilities, and deliver flexible rates, the insurance company reported.
The California FAIR Plan Association has selected Zesty.ai's Z-FIRE wildfire risk platform to better understand wildfire risk at the individual property level. As California's insurer of last resort, the FAIR Plan provides a safety net to property owners who cannot find insurance coverage in the voluntary market and often covers properties most vulnerable to wildfire.
