As lawmakers in Washington, D.C. move toward passing a $1.2 trillion infrastructure package, many in the construction and insurance sectors may be wondering just how much the policy could impact them directly. One indication of where those funds are most likely to land arrived recently when CNBC releases its 2021 study of America's Top States for Business. In it, each state is surveyed on the quality of its infrastructure, and the research revealed clear winners and losers when it comes to the condition of local highways and byways. The study took into account the condition of roads and bridges along with utility infrastructure, connectivity, sustainability and development opportunities. The slideshow above illustrates the worst states in the U.S. in 2021 when it comes to infrastructure, according to CNBC. President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris announced their support of the proposal known as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework in June 2021. The White House characterized the legislation as "the largest long-term investment in our infrastructure and competitiveness in nearly a century — an investment that will make our economy more sustainable, resilient, and just."
