AIR Worldwide released significantly updated earthquake and typhoon models for Japan. The past several years have reaffirmed the vulnerability of Japan to typhoons and earthquakes and prompted the updates. These updated models provide insurance and reinsurance companies with a comprehensive view of risk and account for insurance policy conditions specific to Japan.

FRISS, the widely adopted provider of AI-powered end-to-end fraud prevention and detection solutions for P&C insurers worldwide, announced it closed a $65 million Series B funding round led by Accel-KKR, advised by FT Partners and endorsed by existing investor Aquiline.

TrustedChoice.com, a national digital marketing platform for independent agents, brokers and insurance companies, revealed an updated design for its award-winning website, adding more emphasis on matching insurance shoppers with local independent agents based on location, insurance needs and agency specialization.

Rokstone launched a specialist agriculture division for the U.S. market as it continues to expand in North America. The new division, Rokstone Agriculture Risk Underwriters, will be led by underwriting specialist Eric Conklin, who brings more than 20 years of experience underwriting livestock and equine business.

Howden took a further step in the execution of its European strategy with the launch of Howden Italy and the agreement to acquire Italian broker, Andrea Scagliarini SpA. Establishing operations in Italy adds a further market to Howden’s growing European platform, enabling them to deliver service to both local and multinational clients supported by the full weight of Howden’s specialty offering.

RIMS launched a new mobile application. The member-only mobile application is now available in the App Store and Google Play Store. The development of the RIMS Mobile App was a result of member feedback that indicated a demand for greater access to the Society’s vast collection of resources.

Hippo has launched Inspection Protection, which offers a first-of-its-kind protection plan for homebuyers, providing coverage for repairs to qualifying structural systems for issues missed by an inspector during a home inspection, the company claims. Inspection Protection saves home buyers and sellers time, stress and potentially major financial burdens during a new owner’s first year in the property.

Amica Insurance announced it will be the official auto, home and life insurance partner of the BMW Car Club of America through April 2024. Amica is the oldest mutual insurer of automobiles in the country. It also offers home, marine, personal umbrella liability and life insurance products.
