NCCI continues support for Kids’ Chance of America
Since 2004, the council has supported the organization, which helps children of workers injured or killed on the job.
The National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI) has donated $25,000 to students through the Kids’ Chance of America organization, a nonprofit that provides educational opportunities and scholarships for children who have been affected by a parent’s work-related injury or death.
“Kids’ Chance makes a real difference for deserving young people, helping them and their families deal with the challenges of a catastrophic work injury,” Bill Donnell, president and CEO of NCCI, said in a release.
NCCI has supported the charity since 2004, according to Cristine Pike, manager of communications, who told PropertyCasualty360.com: “There is no other national organization that we are aware of that so closely ties with helping injured workers. NCCI’s mission is to foster a healthy workers’ compensation system, and Kids’ Chance supports the students of those workers. It’s a natural fit for us, and we are proud to support them.”
Kids’ Chance coordinates fundraising and scholarship awards for 49 state groups across the U.S., with a focus on ensuring children of injured works can pursue their educational aspirations without financial burdens.
“We’re extremely grateful to NCCI for its continued support,” Ken Martino, president of Kids’ Chance of America, said in a press release. “NCCI has been a national partner for many years, often going above and beyond through opportunities like this one. Their commitment enables us to make a difference in the life of a child whose parent was seriously or fatally injured on the job.”
The workers’ comp organization announced the donation during its Annual Issues Symposium 2021.
