When buying a brand-new vehicle, drivers expect upgraded features, the latest technology, and most importantly, reliability. However, some owners of certain 2020/21 model-year cars may be realizing that new-car advantages do not always include dependability. Consumer Reports (CR) recently released its list of newer-model vehicles with the greatest risk of problems. The nonprofit consumer organization surveyed more than 300,000 car owners on recent vehicle performance. The study examined 17 different trouble areas, from basic nuisances such as squeaky brakes to significant issues like out-of-warranty repairs. Consumer Reports then weighed each type of problem's severity to create a reliability score for each vehicle. Only vehicles with at least model years of data were considered for the list. According to Consumer Reports, infotainment systems remain a top pain point for drivers, USA Today reported. More drivers are also encountering vehicle transmission issues, such as those involving high-tech automatic transmissions that use electronic controls to mimic a manual car's performance.
