Fifteen P&C insurance providers made the 2020 list of America's Best Employers for Women compiled by Forbes magazine. "Companies have made considerable progress in their quest for gender parity over the years, enacting strong hiring and retention practices that directly benefit female employees and offering family-friendly policies that place women at the center of these efforts," writes Forbes Diversity & Inclusion Reporter Ruth Emoh. According to 2019 data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, just over half of insurance agents (50.6%) are women, nearly 82% of claims and processing clerks are women, 62% of claims adjusters, examiners and investigators are women, and 51% of insurance underwriters are women. Forbes collaborated with Statista to survey 75,000 people for this 3rd annual list. Respondents were asked about such issues as company culture, advancement opportunities, wages and diversity efforts.
