Landing on a Fortune 500 list of any sort is no small task, which is why so many companies take pride when they're included — and this year is no different. This year marks the 66th edition of the ranking of America's largest companies, one that includes a number of property & casualty insurance companies. The 500 that made this year's list represent two-thirds of the U.S. economy, with $14.2 trillion in revenue. The full list provides a complete breakdown of who's up, who's down and why. The list can be filtered by sector, industry, headquarters, whether the founder is the CEO, if the company's rank dropped, and much more. Companies are ranked by total revenues for their respective fiscal years. Included in the survey are companies that are incorporated in the U.S. and operate in the U.S. and file financial statements with a government agency. This includes private companies and cooperatives that file a 10-K or a comparable financial statement with a government agency and mutual insurance companies that file with state regulators. A full description of the methodology can be found here. The slideshow above reveals the top-ranked 15 P&C insurance companies that made the 2020 Fortune 500. Related: |
