Crawford & Company names new CEO and president

On May 15, Rohit Verma and Joseph Blanco will step into the roles of CEO and president, respectively.

“Crawford’s CEO succession plan is an orderly transition of leadership at Crawford & Company that has been in planning for the past several months. Crawford will continue to advance its vision to be the leading provider of claims management solutions and a most trusted source for comprehensive solutions that best suit the needs of our clients,” Rohit Verma (pictured) told PC360. After five years as the CEO and president of Crawford & Company, Harsha V. Agadi is transitioning to the board as a director with Rohit Verma taking the helm as chief executive.

Effective May 15, Verma will assume the role of CEO after serving as global chief operating officer, and Joseph Blanco, the company’s current general counsel, will step into the role of president.

Since Verma joined the claims management provider nearly three years ago, he has demonstrated passion for clients and employees well as a strategic sense for innovation — qualities that make him the perfect fit to lead the company at this time, Agadi said in a release. Verma will be based in Atlanta, where he will build his strategic vision and customer-led approach to deliver Crawford’s mission.

It is an honor and privilege to lead this almost 80-year-old organization,” Verma told PropertyCasualty360.  “I look forward to building upon the momentum that Harsha created by focusing on top-quality customer service, relentless innovation and industry expertise. Our mission to restore and enhance lives, businesses and communities will continue to guide us into the next chapter of Crawford’s history.”

Blanco will take over as president after being with the company for almost four years. In his role, Blanco will report to Verma and be responsible for all shared services functions in the company, except for the CFO function, which will continue to report to the CEO. Before Crawford & Company, Blanco was the managing partner of the Atlanta office of the international law firm Dentons.

In a statement, Blanco said: “I am honored to serve in this leadership role partnering with Rohit to execute on our mission of restoring and enhancing lives, business and communities. I look forward to working with our global team to utilize our eight-decades of experience and capabilities to deliver on our mission in evolving and creative ways.”
