If he was still alive today, he might amend his statement to include filing an auto insurance claim. No matter how safe of a driver you are, there will come a time when you need to file an auto insurance claim. There's only so much an insured can control when they're behind the wheel with all the external variables that exist in our unpredictable world. For example, adverse weather conditions could cause someone to damage an insured's parked car. Or a distracted driver could simply hit an insured's car and cause their rates to go up, even though the insured was adhering to the rules of the road.
