RIMS names Roxsann Wilson the 2020 RIMS Risk Manager of the Year

Additionally, the 2020 Risk Management Honor Roll inducted Jane Sandler.

RIMS, the risk management society, announced Roxsann Wilson, vice president of risk management for Cardinal Health, as the 2020 RIMS Risk Manager of the Year.

The 2020 Risk Management Honor Roll inducted Jane Sandler, vice president, global risk management for McKesson Corp.

“Roxsann and our Honor Roll inductee Jane Sandler are, without question, risk management leaders that have broken down barriers and elevated the risk management narratives within their organizations. This Society is so fortunate to learn from their tremendous success and thrilled to be able to share their experiences with our global risk management network,” RIMS CEO Mary Roth said in a statement.

The Risk Manager of the Year program, initiated in 1977, aims to raise the profile of the risk management profession and the programs the honorees have implemented within their organizations. The Risk Management Honor Roll was added in 1981.

At Cardinal Health, a $145 billion integrated health care services and products company that provides customized solutions for hospitals, health care systems, pharmacies and more, Wilson is responsible for coordinating the risk financing solution for all property and casualty risks for the organization.

She manages insurance placements, as well as the development and implementation of a wide range of cross-functional, enterprise risk management objectives, including business continuity initiatives and loss mitigation strategies.

Currently, Wilson is leading a team through the integration of a multi-billion dollar acquisition, the transition of its divestitures, its $150 billion-plus revenue, 600 worldwide locations and nearly 50,000 employees.

At McKesson Corp., Sandler is responsible for effective risk management for McKesson worldwide. Under her guidance, McKesson’s risk management team designs and leads cost-effective strategies to evaluate, mitigate and manage the company’s operational and strategic risks.

Among her many accomplishments, Sandler has successfully created a centralized global risk management function, led the design and implementation of a new RMIS system to improve data integrity. She also facilitated the development and execution of a globally integrated risk management framework to adopt McKesson’s growth through acquisitions, including European Pharmaceutical Solutions Segment fiscal 2019 revenues over $27 billion across 10-plus countries.
