The Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF) announced the dates of its 2020 Women in Insurance Conference Series Regional Forums and invite all interested insurance professionals to register. Focused on the theme of Beyond Gender: Inclusion, Leadership and Innovation, these one-day conferences will continue the conversation on how insurance professionals can collaborate to advance diversity, inclusion, innovation and leadership opportunities within the industry while raising funds for philanthropic efforts. The dates are:

Risk Strategies announced the acquisition of Atlas Insurance Management as part of its purchase of Atlas Group Limited and its affiliated entities. Terms of the deal were not made public. Founded in 2002, Atlas manages captive insurance entities, and forms and operates a number of its own insurers. In particular, Atlas forms and operates protected cell companies (PCC), making cells available to captive clients and acting as fronting insurers as well as pooling reinsurers.

Moving concierge service MooveGuru has launched an exclusive partnership with digital insurance broker Mylo, providing MooveGuru customers with access to expert home insurance recommendations, online quote comparisons from multiple carriers and personalized advice from licensed agents. MooveGuru says this partnership with Mylo will allow homebuyers to compare digital quotes from leading carriers, get coverage recommendations, and purchase top-rated products for home, renters, auto, flood, umbrella and more, with carrier partners in all 50 states.

The National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC) spoke at a conference hosted today by the BuildStrong Coalition and the California Chamber of Commerce in Sacramento to examine the growing risk of wildfire and how mitigation policies can help protect homeowners and communities.

Andrew Huff, federal affairs director for NAMIC, spoke of how NAMIC brought together a group of stakeholders in 2011 to form the BuildStrong Coalition and since that time has continued working on Capitol Hill to raise awareness about the importance of increasing pre-disaster mitigation and the use of stronger building codes at the federal, state, and local levels.
