PIA of Conn. invites InsurTechs to demo at annual convention
The state association is welcoming InsurTechs to exhibit at its upcoming event attended by more than 400 insurance professionals.
Insurance agents are becoming increasingly aware of the benefits of partnering with InsurTechs, despite hesitant adopters still existing in the channel.
“When InsurTech companies first began to appear, they were viewed by many in the insurance industry as a threat to the independent agency system. However, now the technology is being viewed as a way to enhance how insurance agents interact with their clients,” says Mark Connelly, CIC, president of the Professional Insurance Agents of Connecticut (PIACT).
But even the agents and brokers using agency technology, finding the right InsurTech partner, and understanding the many uses of technology continue to be a challenge.
To assist Connecticut agents and brokers understand and learn about the technology available in today’s market, PIACT is calling for InsurTech innovators, whose products benefit the independent insurance agency channel, to provide demonstrations during its Connecticut Convention, March 5-6, 2020, at Foxwoods Resort & Casino. The convention attracts more than 400 agents, company representatives, exhibitors, and other insurance industry professionals from across the state.
“Agents should look at these demonstrations as a way to view InsurTech as a benefit,” Connelly continues. “They should ask the companies questions about how their products will benefit their businesses and how they can enhance the customer service they provide to their current and prospective clients.”
InsurTech companies that would like to promote their products and services to insurance professionals have until Friday, Jan. 31, 2020, to sign up.
