Chubb appointments highlight focus on small businesses, middle markets
Chubb announced that Ben Rockwell, James Williamson and Alex Wells are all stepping into new roles at the company.
Chubb’s continued focus on small and midsize businesses has been bolstered by a series of appointments for its North America commercial insurance segment, the company’s retail commercial property & casualty insurance division that serves middle market and small businesses.
Ben Rockwell is now vice president, Chubb Group and division president, Chubb Middle Market. He previously served as executive vice president and chief underwriting officer of North America commercial insurance.
James Williamson is now division president, Chubb small business, which includes the company’s product and service offerings for small and lower middle market companies. He previously served as vice president, Chubb Group and division president, North America small commercial insurance.
They succeed C. Scott Gunter, who is leaving the company.
The company also announced that Alex Wells, former executive vice president and commercial insurance regional manager, Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions, has been named chief underwriting officer for North America commercial insurance, succeeding Rockwell.

Ben is an experienced and seasoned underwriting executive.”
