World Against Toys Causing Harm (W.A.T.C.H.) revealed its 47th annual report identifying the year's top 10 potentially hazardous toys, cautioning parents about the dangers of certain products in time for the 2019 holiday season. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, there were an estimated 251,700 toy-related injuries in the United States in 2017 and 37 deaths from toy-related incidents reported from 2015 to 2017. W.A.T.C.H. says this year's worst toys were selected for their risks that include poor designs, along with inconsistent and inadequate warnings, cautions and age recommendations. The safety group added that some of the toys have been sold without the proper safety gear or marketed with inconsistent safety messages. Several of the toys chosen pose choking hazards as they contain small parts, strings, projectiles, toxic substances and rigid materials. In the slideshow above, discover which products made W.A.T.C.H. group's 47th annual "10 Worst Toys" list for 2019. See also: |
