Fortegra Financial Corporation announced that David Barber, a recognized Lloyd's underwriter for 30 years specializing in U.S. casualty business, is joining the company as the chief underwriting officer for specialty lines in London. Ben Rozema has been promoted to director of programs at Topa Insurance Company. He joined Topa Insurance in 2017 as a senior product manager and was later promoted to group product manager in August 2018. River and Mercantile Solutions announced that Michael Clark, managing director and consulting actuary, was appointed president of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries (CCA). Named president-elect of the CCA in October 2018, Clark has served in a number of roles within the organization. Doug Karpp has been appointed head of executive risks and cyber in the U.S. at Hiscox. Karpp, who previously served as senior vice president and the U.S. crime & fidelity product head for the firm, will be responsible for developing business strategies within the product suite. Sompo International Holdings Ltd. announced that Harriet Harty has been named executive vice president and chief human resources officer for the company's commercial property & casualty operations. She most recently served as chief human resources officer for Allstate Insurance Company. Peter Carter has been appointed as the new leader of Willis Towers Watson's global captive practice within its corporate risk and broking segment. Before this, Carter served as finance director for the company's investment, risk and reinsurance segment. Jay Heidbrink has also joined Willis Towers Watson as director, business development within its corporate risk and broking segment. He previously served as assistant general counsel at Hunt Oil Company. The Workers' Compensation Institute appointed Julie Fetherman as the new associate executive director. Most recently, she served as vice president for national sales with Paradigm. Jon Gorman has been named executive director at the Network of Vertafore Users (NetVU). He comes to NetVU from Cornerstone Credit Union League, where he was senior vice president. Renaissance Alliance Insurance Services announced that Anthony Amoruso has joined the organization as senior agency recruitment specialist in Florida. Before this, he was a territorial sales manager in southern Florida for Bankers Insurance Corporation. Jeffrey Rainville has joined Hancock Claims Consultants LLC as senior vice president, carrier relations and business development. He most recently served as district vice president with CorVel Corporation. Gov. Gavin Newsom announced the appointment of members of the California Wildfire Safety Advisory Board, as outlined in AB 1054, and the California Catastrophe Response Council, established by AB 111, both signed into law in July: |

NIP Group Inc. added John Bertoli as senior vice president of marketing. Before joining NIP Group, he served as the head of marketing and partner services at Samsung SDS America. Andrew Barile has been appointed MGA consulting advisor to Erez Golomb, CEO of E Golomb Insurance Services Inc., a Nationwide excess & surplus lines program administrator. Barile is the CEO of Andrew Barile Consulting Corporation. Priority First Insurance & Investments hired Tina Woehr as an account executive. Prior to joining the agency, Woehr worked in the insurance industry as both a customer service representative and an office manager. Elaine Coffman has joined Lockton as president of the Michigan operation. Coffman joins Lockton from Marsh & McLennan Agency, where she spent 17 years as the automotive industry leader specializing in consulting with businesses to engage and retain talent. AmWINS Group Inc. announced that Alex Kaplan has been named executive vice president for alternative risk. Prior to joining AmWINS, he spent 11 years at Swiss RE, most recently as head of North America for the company's public sector solutions unit. Sean Gormley has joined the Glatfelter Agency, a division of Glatfelter Insurance Group, as the new president of their downtown York, Penn. office. Most recently, Gormley served as the director of commercial brokerage at AHT. Risk Strategies announced that Chris Powers has been appointed to lead its employee benefits practice for the Eastern United States. Previously, he oversaw the New England region of the firm's employee benefits practice. Gary Kitchen has been promoted to president of the MGA division at Worldwide Facilities. He first joined the company as part of the RIC Insurance General Agency Inc. acquisition in 2018. Florida Peninsula Insurance Company announced that Clint Strauch was unanimously voted to serve on the Florida State University's Risk Management and Insurance Executive Council Board. Strauch is president of Florida Peninsula as well as its wholly-owned subsidiary, Edison Insurance Company. John Turner has been appointed chairman of Ed Bermuda. He joins from Aon, where he was most recently chairman, Aon commercial risk solutions U.K. & Americas. The commissioners of the Oklahoma Workers' Compensation Commission have hired Lauren Hammonds Johnson as the agency's new general counsel. She spent the last six years working for the Oklahoma Office of the Attorney General as an assistant attorney general. Joseph Fagan has been named an account administrator within RT Specialty's national environmental and construction professional liability practice. He was a student at The College of New Jersey prior to joining RT Specialty. Atain Insurance Companies added David P. Lucey to its leadership as vice president. Most recently, he served as senior vice president with Pioneer Underwriters. Reid Sawyer has been appointed Marsh's U.S. cyber risk consulting leader.
