When it's time for vacation and the destination is Mexico, India or Brazil, no academic study or internet list is going to get in the way of your good time! But the fact remains: Travel or relocation to some international outposts is more risky than it is to others. Why? According to InterNations, a global community and information site for people who live and work abroad, the more dangerous destinations worldwide get that dubious distinction based on such factors as quality of life, cost of living, personal finance, and public safety and security. The organization recently released its annual Expat Insider Survey, a report on what it's like to live and work abroad. For the 2019 survey, InterNations polled 20,259 expats representing 182 nationalities and living in 187 countries or territories. Although each country was given an overall ranking, Forbes extrapolated those with the lowest "safety and security" rankings to determine which countries are statistically the most dangerous. The slideshow above reveals the top 20 most dangerous countries in the world based on research published by InterNations in its 2019 Expat Insider Survey. Travel or work in such countries may require creative insurance solutions. See also: |
