At least three homes have been destroyed and eight have been damaged by the Gun Range Fire in the hills near Bountiful and Centerville, Utah, approximately 11 miles north of Salt Lake City, ABC 4 reports.

As of this morning, evacuation orders were lifted for Centerville, with residents permitted to return home. However, evacuations are still in effect for Bountiful residents. No schools or businesses have been reported as being affected by the fire.

Bountiful Police Lt. Dave Edwards told reporters early Friday morning that the fire started just before 1a.m on the east bench, say KSL-TV.

The latest report from KSL says the fire has burned between 150 and 300 acres and is 0% contained. Winds in the area made fighting the fire difficult; however, winds appear to be lessening, according to KSL meteorologist Grant Weyman.
