H.W. Kaufman Group announced the launch of its 50 Days of Giving Challenge, a global and corporate-wide effort in honor of the company’s 50th anniversary. The challenge includes the company’s more than 60 offices spanning the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom to raise funds for the City of Hope, a cancer center specializing in research and treatment.

The company-wide challenge kicked off Aug. 12 and will run through Oct. 18. Throughout this time, associates will help raise funds and seek external support to engage clients and industry partners. The effort concludes with a fundraising event at the annual Kaufman Leadership Meeting held on Oct. 21-26. Alan Jay Kaufman, president, chairman and CEO of H.W. Kaufman Group and Burns & Wilcox, will match all funds raised dollar-for-dollar.

The company is also offering two additional paid days off per year to its associates, encouraging more active participation and volunteering in their communities.

Expanding philanthropic initiatives

The 50 Days of Giving Challenge is an expansion of Champions & Charities, the company’s signature philanthropic initiative launched earlier this year. Started by Burns & Wilcox, H.W. Kaufman Group’s largest subsidiary, Champions & Charities was created to support organizations selected by its professional athlete brand ambassadors. To date, the program has partnered with Team Fox for Parkinson’s Research, Global Lyme Alliance and Forgotten Harvest.

“H.W. Kaufman Group and its family of companies is deeply rooted in philanthropy and continuously looking for innovative opportunities to give back to the many communities we serve,” Kaufman said in a statement. “What better way to celebrate our 50th anniversary than by bringing our global companies and associates together to support a great cause.”
