Attracting and retaining new talent has long been a challenge for insurance and other financial and professional services, as they compete with technology companies and startup cultures. However, some insurance companies are proving that insurance workplaces don't have to be drab and boring — named among Great Place to Work's Best Workplaces for Millennials 2019, the four insurance companies in the slideshow above highlight how insurance can provide a workplace and career where millennials want to work and thrive. |

What makes a great workplace for millennials?

To determine the list, Great Place to Work analyzed anonymous survey feedback from more than 4.5 million people. To be considered for the list, companies had to employ at least 50 millennials. Employees from participating companies were asked to respond to more than 60 questions about how their organization creates a great workplace. Great Place to Work then evaluated what millennials said about their experiences of trust, and their ability to reach their full potential within their organization. Millennials' feedback on their daily experiences of innovation, company values, and the effectiveness of leaders were also considered. In all, 75 large companies (1,000+ employees) and 25 small and medium companies (10-999 employees) were named on 2019's list.
