Allstate, CSAA named in Points of Light Foundation's 2019 Civic 50
Each year, Points of Light engages 5 million volunteers whose efforts total 20 million volunteer hours.
Founded by former President George H.W. Bush in 1990, the Points of Light Foundation is an international non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to engaging more people and resources in solving serious social problems through voluntary service.
Points of Light has 250 affiliates throughout the United States and partners with thousands of other non-profits and companies to engage 5 million volunteers per year in different charitable opportunities. Points of Light estimates their annual 20 million volunteer hours translate to $482 million in value.
Every year since its formation in 2012, the non-profit puts forth The Civic 50, a recognization of 50 organizations that performed outstanding community engagement in the previous year.
Among the 50 2019 honorees are two insurance companies: Allstate and CSAA Insurance Group.
