Everest Insurance announced it has joined with All Risks, Ltd. to expand their workers’ compensation capabilities for the marine industry. Through this program, Everest says brokers will have access to workers’ compensation, United States Longshore & Harbor Workers (USL&H) and marine employers liability (MEL) on one policy in 46 states.

American Technologies Inc. (ATI) is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Founded in 1989 by Gary Moore, the family-owned and operated restoration contractor is still run by its founder, specializing in both environmental and reconstruction services. Headquartered in Anaheim, Ca., the company operates out of 20 branch offices nationwide with over 1,200 employees.

The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research launched a new Corporate Learning Portal to help educational managers and anyone responsible for overseeing training easily track associate continuing education and professional development. The Corporate Learning Portal is a customizable learning management system that includes features such as centralized and individual billing, a multi-state CE request function, and dynamic dashboards that display learning progress.

IronPro, the professional liability unit of Ironshore, is introducing a two-term policy endorsement for its Miscellaneous Professional Liability (MPL) product for small business accounts. IronPro’s MPL program customizes protection for a range of professional services providers, including consultants, advertising and public relations agencies, employment/staffing firms and executive recruiters, etc. Policy limits are available for up to $3 million.

Additionally, Ironshore Environmental announced a new enhancement to its Site Pollution Incident Legal Liability Select (SPILLS) policy to broaden its coverage for manufacturers and distributors, as well as other entities with products exposure. The Ironshore SPILLS policy provides comprehensive environmental liability protection enabling insureds to manage a variety of environmental exposures. This new SPILLS policy endorsement extends coverage for pollution incidents caused by the insured’s product after that product has been put to its intended use, helping to fill policy coverage gaps, which exclude bodily injury, property damage and cleanup arising from a product.

The New Jersey Professional Insurance Agents (NJPIA) will award Gary J. Capone, CPCU, ARM, vice president of field services for Franklin Mutual Insurance Co. in Branchville, N.J., as their 2019 Company Person of the Year at its Annual Conference held at Harrah’s Resort and Casino in Atlantic City, June 9-11. Nominated by PIA member agents, this award is presented to an individual who fosters a strong working relationship with agents and brokers, and who exemplifies a commitment to professionalism and service.

PERILS AG disclosed its second loss estimate for windstorm Dragi-Eberhard of €798 million, or $903 million. This estimate compares to the initial loss estimate of €798 million which was issued by PERILS on April 18, 2019. Dragi-Eberhard affected the British Isles, and Western and Central Europe on March 9 and 10, 2019. The majority of the losses occurred in Belgium, France and Germany.

Aon and CoverWallet have entered into a commercial agreement to serve clients in Australia, and announced an initiative to expand this partnership to additional countries including the U.S. The current partnership provides Aon with additional access to the $100B small and medium enterprise (SME) digital insurance market segment, while allowing CoverWallet to expand its reach into new channels and geographies through Aon’s global capabilities and professional network. A new Aon platform powered by CoverWallet launched in Australia this month, and Aon announced it will partner with CoverWallet around further technological advancements and client opportunities.

The New York Insurance Association, Inc. (NYIA) honored Bernard J. Turi with the Chair’s Distinguished Service Award at the association’s annual conference on May 30 in Bolton Landing, N.Y. Turi is senior vice president, general counsel, general auditor and chief risk officer of the Utica Mutual Insurance Company and the member companies of the Utica National Insurance Group.

“Bernie is an accomplished insurance professional who is admired by his peers,” Elizabeth Heck, NYIA chair and president and chief executive officer of Greater New York Mutual Insurance Company said in a statement. “The combination of his passion for the insurance industry, expansive knowledge of the law and ability to effectively communicate is simply unparalleled.”
