Job satisfaction is critical for nearly every employee. Without it, individuals may eventually leave their current job in search of a better employer. Some job-seekers will look at a different company culture. Others may consider work-life balance or a company's diversity and inclusion initiatives. Though the insurance industry is undergoing rapid change and disruption, job satisfaction has consistently been cited as a reason to work in the industry. It follows that a joint collaboration between Forbes and Statista found that many of America's best midsize employers included companies in the insurance industry. Of the 500 employers listed, 33 were affiliated with insurance. |

Employers raise the bar

To find out which companies and organizations are offering employees the very best deal this year, Statista partnered with Forbes to develop America's Best Midsize Employers of 2019. Statista surveyed 50,000 Americans working for businesses with at least 1,000 employees to determine the list. The respondents were asked to rate, on a scale of zero to 10, how likely they'd be to recommend their employer to others.
