Scholarship opportunities are often the differentiator for students considering a certain college or a field of study. For students curious about the insurance industry, there's good news: The National African American Insurance Association (NAAIA) JL Tillman Scholarship is accepting applicants.
To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be an African American U.S. citizen pursuing a degree in insurance, risk management, business, actuarial science, finance, IT, or marketing and communications.
- Must have a minimum of a 2.5 GPA.
- Must be a graduating high school senior who is college-bound, or a current college, Jr. college or community college student.
- Must show school acceptance letter and acceptable proof that commitment has been made to attend a specific school.
- Must complete the Annual Scholarship Program Entry form before July 18, 2019.
The entry form requires applicants to submit an essay, submit three letters of reference, a copy of their most recent high school or college transcript, provide documentation confirming their ACT or SAT scores as well as providing college acceptance letters prior to receiving the award if chosen.
