People on the move in the P&C insurance industry: March 29, 2019

John Farley has joined Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. to lead its cyber practice. Prior to this, he served as the vice president, cyber risk consulting practice leader at HUB International.

QBE North America has appointed Theresa M. Zimmerman global risk solutions lead for the QBE Integrated Advantage for Healthcare. A registered nurse and attorney, ZImmerman comes to QBE with more than 25 years of experience with a focus on the health care industry.

Darcie Floyd has joined the insurance services team at Western Growers as the director of employee benefits. She doubled as a financial services department manager and account executive at Der Manouel Insurance Group.

Betterview has appointed Dr. Dan Shoham as its new chief science officer. Prior to joining Betterview, Dr. Shoham was a lead data scientist at Farmers Insurance.

James M. Davis has joined Perkins Coie‘s insurance recovery practice as a partner in Chicago. He joins the firm from Reed Smith, where he previously had served as the deputy practice group leader of the insurance recovery group.

Liberty Mutual has named Kelly B. Proctor branch executive in the Mid-Atlantic region, serving Maryland, Washington D.C. and Virginia. Most recently, she regional sales manager with AmTrust North America.

Christopher Skarinka has been promoted to president of the public risk group at Tokio Marine HCC, effective April 1, 2019. He is currently the chief operating officer for its professional lines and public risk groups.

Hamilton Insurance Group has announced several executive-level developments:

omni: us, the insurance-focused artificial intelligence solution business, has appointed Joost Heideman as a strategic advisor to help drive the company’s global expansion plans. Until January 2019, he was the CEO of Dutch mutual insurance company Univé.

Athletic insurance agency Dissinger Reed has added Tom Wilson to its staff as a market consultant. Wilson is the founder and former president of National Sports Underwriters LLC and Summit America Insurance Services LLC.

David Bailey has been appointed head of pricing and reinsurance in the U.S. for international specialist insurer Hiscox. Bailey, who has been a partner with Hiscox since 2011, most recently served as Hiscox’s Southwest regional executive within the field leadership team.

United Heartland, a national workers’ compensation insurance company, has promoted Dana Pierce to regional director in Charlotte, N.C. Most recently, he was the regional manager of business development.

Richard Porter has been named senior vice president, head of financial lines at Chubb Bermuda. Before this appointment, he served as general counsel to the company.

CSAA Insurance Group, a AAA insurer, announced that its board of directors named Thomas M. Troy to succeed Paula F. Downey as the company’s CEO and a member of its board of directors, effective April 8, 2019. Most recently, Troy served as an executive vice president at Allstate.

Coverys Managing Agency Limited, the Lloyd’s managing agent of Syndicates 1975, 1991, 3330 and 1110, appointed Caitlin Crist to the newly created role of head of claims of Coverys Syndicate 1975. She joins from Brit Globaly specialty where she served as a complex claims specialist.
