Standard Insurance Company has promoted Michael Da Voe to assistant vice president of business intelligence. Da Voe joined the company in 2017 as the senior director of business intelligence.
Shikha Hornsey has been hired as chief information officer at Starkweather & Shepley Insurance Brokerage Inc. Before this, Hornsey was chief information officer at Value Line.
Etherisc has announced that two members of the Ethereum Foundation team, Aya Miyaguchi and Virgil Griffith, have joined its advisory board. At the Ethereum Foundation, Miyaguchi is the executive director, and Griffith works on special projects.
Yvonne Steiner has been named head of property for Zurich Canada. Most recently, she was RSA’s head of global specialty lines, Canada.
Pennsylvania Lumbermens Mutual Insurance Company (PLM) has hired John Kennealy as vice president of claims. Prior to joining PLM, he served as director of the major litigation unit for commercial claims at CNA Insurance Company.
QBE North America has announced the following appointments:
- Paige Brewin - associate vice president, underwriting leader, within the transactional liability team
- Noemi Hernandez - senior underwriter, commercial E&O
Michael Schell will become Tokio Marine HCC‘s next president, effective April 1, 2019, replacing William Burke, who is retiring. Schell currently serves as executive vice president at Tokio Marine HCC.
Stacey Farrell has been appointed a partner in global law firm Clyde & Co‘s global insurance practice. She ran her own firm over two years, The Farrell Law Firm, having previously held a partner-level role at Cozen O’Connor.
Renaissance Alliance Insurance Services has appointed Robert A. Bondi president. Previously, Bondi was the chief operating officer of Confie, a U.S. personal lines broker.
Steve Kronsnoble has joined CastleBay Companies as insurance principal consultant. He previously served as insurance practice leader at Wipfli LLP.
Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP has added a team of experienced trial and class action lawyers that will be led by veteran insurance and financial institutions lawyer James Jorden. Jorden is one of 14 new litigation partners and three associates, all previously with Carlton Fields Jorden Burt P.A.
Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP also announced that Jason H. Gould has joined the firm as a partner in Washington, D.C.
David M. Slaugenhoup has been promoted to assistant vice president within RT Specialty‘s national environmental and construction professional liability practice. He joined the New Day team in 2013, most recently serving as a senior consultant.
Liberty Mutual has announced new appointments to lead commercial lines business for wholesale distribution within its global risk solutions unit:
- Tara Houvenagle - wholesale distribution executive west
- Jessica Ferguson - wholesale distribution executive east
Jennifer Vance has been promoted to general counsel, secretary and chief legal officer for COUNTRY Financial, Illinois Farm Bureau and other affiliated companies. In her new role, Vance will serve on COUNTRY Financial’s leadership council and oversee the Office of General Counsel (OGC), among other responsibilities. Since 2013, she has served as deputy general counsel and assistant secretary at the OGC.
The Prima Solutions-Effisoft Group has appointed Christel Thorson vice president of sales for North America. Thorson spent hte last 12 years in the information technology sector, namely in charge of sales of reinsurance software at msg global solutions Inc.
Scott Fleckenstein has been hired as vice president of employee benefits at Assurance. Before this, he served as principal at Staffing Benefits Group.
PartnerRe has announced changes to its executive leadership team:
- Philippe Meyenhofer - currently deputy CEO, P&C, and head of P&C Europe will lead the company’s Europe, the Middle East and Africa regional unit.
- James Beedle - in addition to leading the Asia-Pacific regional unit, he will assume executive responsibility for the global clients and broker management unit.
- Jon Schriber - will assume responsibility for the P&C North America unit.
- Greg Haft - CEO for specialty lines.
Jeana Deninger has joined Insureon as its chief operating officer. Deninger comes to Insureon from CoverHound, a San Francisco-based InsurTech company.
International specialist insurer Hiscox has appointed Jennifer Nierenberg Metzger head of product innovation and development in the U.S. She most recently worked as a director at Nationwide in its professional liability and specialty programs underwriting group.
Geoffrey Griffard has joined Topa Insurance Company as its director of financial planning & analysis. He joins Topa Insurance with over 10 years of experience in financial planning & analysis, including serving as manager, financial planning & analysis at Mercury Insurance.
FRISS announced that Jim Murphy has joined their team as vice president of products for North America. Before joining FRISS, he held similar roles at IBM, MetLife and Genpact.
TrueMotion has announced the following appointments:
