People on the move in the P&C insurance industry: March 8, 2019

Sedgwick has appointed Jane Tutoki to serve as an independent member of its board of directors. She most recently worked as vice chair of Sedgwick, which she joined last year through the company’s acquisition of Cunningham Lindsey.

Michael Barry has been appointed head of the Insurance Information Institute‘s (I.I.I.) communications. He joined I.I.I. in 2006 after serving as director of public affairs at the New York State Insurance Department.

Robert Bauer has Joined Marsh to lead its U.S. sharing economy & mobility practice. Bauer joins Marsh from AIG where he most recently served as general insurance head of innovation and its sharing economy group.

Everest Insurance announced that Kathleen Boland has joined the company as director, marketing & distribution. Most recently, she held the role of business development leader at Zurich North America.

Joseph Nawa has been promoted to vice president within RT Specialty‘s national environment and construction professional liability practice. Nawa joined the New Day team as a consultant in 2013.

The Amynta Group, a group of warranty, managing general agent and specialty risk companies, announced that Bob James has been appointed executive vice president, managing general agencies. Most recently, he held a variety of positions at QBE Insurance, including global transformation director, chief operating officer for their North American business and president of the North American standard lines property & casualty portfolio.

Matthew Mamet has joined EverQuote Inc. as vice president of consumer product. He was most recently vice president of product in TripAdvisor’s hotel business.

Metromile has announced the following appointments:

John Sames has joined EPIC Insurance Brokers and Consultants‘ Northeast region team in the new position of director of operations and sales. Prior to joining EPIC, Sames served as a regional leader for Marsh & McLennan Agency.

Alternative Service Concepts (ASC), a national workers’ compensation and liability third-party claims administrator, has promoted Jolie Barnes to claims manager. She has served as a senior liability claims adjuster since coming to work for ASC in July 2015.

Beth Austerman has been appointed senior production underwriter by workers’ compensation specialist The MEMIC Group. Before this, she held a variety of middle market underwriting roles at The Hartford.

Interstate Restoration, a national, emergency-restoration general contractor that specializes in repairing commercial property, has promoted Yvette Winter to general manager of the company’s Northwest region. Winter joined the Seattle office of Interstate Restoration in June 2017 as a national accounts manager and document restoration specialist.

QBE North America has announced the following appointments:

Baptiste OssenaAllianz Global Corporate & Specialty‘s global product leader of hull and marine liabilities (HML), will assume additional responsibilities as the North American regional head of HML. Ossena has held his current global role since 2017; he also served as regional head of Mediterranean marine & energy through January 2018.

PLNAR, an InsurTech startup and provider of a virtual claims solution for interior property & casualty insurance claims, announced that Andrew Robinson has joined the company’s board of directors. He is currently co-CEO at Groundspeed Analytics and a senior advisor at Oak HC/FT.

Donald Bragg has joined the Independent Insurance Agents of Virginia (IIAV) as the director of membership & marketing. He was previously with the Hanover Insurance Company, an associate member of IIAV.
