People on the move in the P&C insurance industry: Feb. 22, 2019

George Schalick has been promoted to senior vice president of underwriting at Philadelphia Insurance Companies. He previously served as vice president and will continue to oversee the management and professional liability underwriting division in his new role.

Specialty underwriter Orchid Underwriters Agency LLC announced that Joe Zuk has joined the company as managing director of corporate development & strategy, a new position within the organization. Prior to joining Orchid, Zuk served a dual role — president of the commercial and property divisions, as well as directing and executing corporate growth and development strategies — at Atlas General Holdings.

David Fisher has joined FRISS‘ board as a non-executive member. Fisher is currently the CEO and chairman of the board of directors at Enova International, a technology and analytics company focused on online lending.

Instec, a provider of policy administration systems to insurance program and specialty markets, has hired CJ Lotter as a senior solution architect. Most recently, he spent nine years as chief research and business development officer of the U.S. programs division at Willis Towers Watson.

Michael Trainor has been named president of sales at Metropolis Title Services, a title insurance provider located in Westchester, N.Y. Trainor was previously the senior business development officer at Stewart Title.

Pinnacle Actuarial Resources Inc. has announced the following promotions:

• Aaron N. Hillebrandt - director and consulting actuary
• Christopher C. Cortner - consulting actuary

Jeff Vetter has been appointed executive vice president and head of inland marine for Ascot Group. He joins from Markel where he led their inland marine division.

FTI Consulting Inc. has expanded its global insurance services practice within the firm’s forensic & litigation consulting segment with the addition of Michael Flagiello and Alex Unterkoefler as senior managing directors. Before joining FTI Consulting, Flagiello was a partner at Mazars USA and a senior manager at SMART Business Advisory and Consulting; Unterkoefler was also a partner at Mazars USA and a senior managing director at SMART Business Advisory and Consulting.

Alissa Knight has joined Aite Group as a senior analyst with its cybersecurity practice. Most recently, she was the group managing partner of Brier & Thorn, where she was responsible for U.S., Europe and Asia operations, and head its connected car cybersecurity practice.

QBE North America has appointed Andrea Taylor assistant vice president, media liability. Most recently, she served as assistant vice president, regional cyber underwriting team lead at Chubb.
