People on the move in the P&C insurance industry: Feb. 15, 2019

Christopher Hetner has joined Marsh as a managing director in its cyber risk consulting practice. He is a former senior cybersecurity advisor to the chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Aon plc has appointed Lambros Lambrou global  CEO of commercial risk solutions. Most recently, Lambrou served as chief commercial officer and CEO of global specialties for commercial risk solutions and will maintain those responsibilities.

Robert Quane has been hired as head of underwriting and portfolio optimization for AXIS Capital Holdings Limited. Quane joins AXIS following a 22-year career at AIG, most recently as head of global commercial property.

Insurance broker and risk management consultant Ames & Gough has appointed Marguerite Parent as an equity partner of the firm. She joined Ames & Gough in 2006 after having served with William Gallagher Associates where she was creator and manager of the firm’s emerging client group.

Cheech Bradford has joined QBE North America as assistant vice president, underwriting leader, working on the media liability team in the professional lines division. Most recently, she worked as a vice president at AXIS Capital where she led the film department for media liability.

The Global Insurance Accelerator (GIA) has announced that Nicole Cook will join GIA full-time and take over as managing director on May 1, 2019. Cook began her career in investment banking at BMO Capital Markets before transitioning to startup life where she worked for and advised a number of fintech and technology startups over the last decade.

POWERS Insurance and Risk Management has hired two new team members:

• Luke Wittenberg - commercial lines insurance advisor

Craig Newmark and Joseph Plumeri have been named the newest members of the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum‘s board of trustees. Newmark is the founder of Craigslist and Craig Newmark Philanthropies. Plumeri is the vice chairman of the First Data board of directors and former chairman & CEO of Willis Group.

American International Group Inc. (AIG) has appointed Carla Ferrara head of communications for AIG’s investments organization. She joined AIG in 2018, serving as director, internal communications, for AIG’s Finance, Internal Audit, Enterprise Risk Management and Global Legal Compliance & Regulatory functions.

Mark S. Katz has joined RT Specialty as an executive vice president. Before this, he was with boutique law firm Mound Cotton Wollan & Greengrass LLP for 25 years where he analyzed and litigated complex insurance coverage disputes on the behalf of insurers, with a special emphasis on commercial property litigation.

AmTrust Title Insurance Company has promoted Felice K. Shapiro to general counsel for AmTrust Title and First Nationwide Title. Shapiro most recently served as executive vice president and chief underwriter for AmTrust Title.

TT Club, the international transport and logistics provider of insurance and related risk management services, has appointed Andrew Peers senior underwriter for its U.K., Benelux and Nordic underwriting team. He joins from RSA where he spent 17 years and led a team of 12 marine liability and marine property insurance underwriters.

The National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR) has announced the following appointments:

• Nancy Atkins - the Kentucky Insurance Department Commissioner has joined NIPR’s board
• Nick Gerhart - the chief administrative officer of Farm Bureau Financial Services will serve as American Property and Casualty Insurance Association’s representative on the board
• David Leifer – the American Council of Life Insurers’ vice president and associate general counsel has been elected as NIPR’s vice president for the year
