Octo Telematics, a global provider of telematics and data analytics solutions for the auto insurance industry, has partnered with Qualitas, Mexico’s largest auto insurer. Octo will supply Qualitas with fleet telematics as it expands its commercial offerings throughout Mexico with a new program, available to its customers in early 2019.

Jewelers Mutual, a U.S. carrier specializing in insuring jewelry and jewelry businesses, has announced it is using Truepic to perform virtual inspections at the point of underwriting and is looking to expand its use over the coming year. Truepic Vision, a newly released product by Truepic, allows Jewelers Mutual customers to perform advanced virtual inspections, which will reduce the need for outdated and slower inspection processes, enhance customer satisfaction and reduce overall cost.

The National Association of Insurance Commissioners announced the licensing of State Based Systems (SBS) technology for Connecticut, making it the 30th state to choose this suite of technology solutions. SBS is a web-based application that helps streamline license processing, insurance education tracking, case management and revenue tracking.

Freelance specialist broker Kingsbridge has acquired on-demand insurance start-up Dinghy. Dinghy offers U.K. freelancer’s professional indemnity, public liability, cyber liability and business equipment insurance for flexible working hours.

Hearsay Systems has added Instagram to its Hearsay Social solution. By providing Instagram support, Hearsay helps financial advisors and insurance agents take advantage of compliant, full-funnel engagement across major social channels in addition to text, voice, email and websites.

Insureon has selected RingCentral Inc. for its voice communication capabilities and open API platform to enable customer integration with multiple applications. By streamlining telesales operations, Insureon built a machine learning integration with RingCentral to provide real-time feedback to agents while they’re on sales calls and drive performance.

Betterview has partnered with Conifer Insurance Company. As a part of this partnership, Betterview will deliver property data and analytics to Conifer’s commercial lines underwriting team to assist in the underwriting evaluation process.

The Global Insurance Accelerator (GIA) has announced a recent investment by Global Atlantic Financial Group Limited. The investment will help fund the GIA’s annual, mentor-driven program while offering the opportunity for six of the company’s staff members to participate as programs mentors who can, in turn, bring back some of the innovation and ideas back into Global Atlantic.

Mutual of Omaha has selected VUE Software and its technology to accelerate the growth of its advice-based sales distribution. Mutual of Omaha will deploy VUE Distribution Compensation and VUE Onboarding & Compliance to support the company’s business strategy, enhance its advisor experiene and deliver insight and information to decision makers.
