Employers with a diverse workforce will be the first to tell you that diversity leads to a more motivated staff, greater employee retention, and a wider range of viewpoints. Although its benefits are well-documented, however, some companies continue to be laggards when it comes to employee diversity. Fortunately, many companies have embraced diversity — so much so, in fact, that they continue to be recognized for it. Forbes, in partnership with the market research company Statista, recently published its second annual ranking of the best employers in the United States for diversity. The list was compiled after surveying 50,000 employees working for businesses with at least 1,000 employees. "The final list ranks the 500 employers that not only received the most recommendations but also boast the most diverse boards and executive ranks and the most proactive diversity and inclusion initiatives," says Forbes. With this in mind, here are the 13 best property & casualty employers that get high marks for diversity in 2019.
