Spencer board elects new officers

Spencer, the organization which funds the education of tomorrow’s risk and insurance leaders, has announced that its board has elected the following new officers:
- Chairperson: Marya J. Propis, senior vice president – director of distribution and broker partnerships for All Risks Ltd.
- President: Robin Joines, senior vice president of risk management for Sedgwick
- Vice President: Peter Heard, vice president of national distribution for Travelers
- Treasurer: Matthew Schneider, global chief operating officer, M&A transaction solutions for Aon
- Secretary: Teresa M. Black, executive vice president of commercial surety, Chubb
“It is an honor to be leading this prestigious foundation as it celebrates its 40th anniversary,” said Propis, who joined the Spencer board in 2013 and has previously served as secretary, vice president and president. “I look forward to working with the board, our stakeholders and program recipients, and continuing to promote the Foundation and expand its impact on the industry.”
Established in 1979, Spencer funds tomorrow’s leaders by awarding scholarships, facilitating internship opportunities, providing Risk-Manager-in-Residence programs to universities and awarding grants to help promote the industry to the next generation.
