Aon plc has appointed Marcelo Homburger president and CEO of commercial risk, health, retirement solutions and affinity for Aon Brasil. Homburger most recently served as executive vice president and leader of commercial risk solutions at Aon Brazil.
Matthew Power has been appointed to lead the national wholesale and alternative distribution operations at Risk Strategies. He comes to Risk Strategies from Lexington Insurance Company where he was national branch president and head of wholesale broker engagement.
The Professional Insurance Agents of New York State will present Joseph W. Headd, regional director, business lines — New York & New Jersey for Liberty Mutual, with its Executive of the Year award at its annual Metropolitan Regional Awareness Program on Jan. 31, 2019. Headd has been with Liberty Mutual since 1991.
Nelson Kefauver has joined OneBeacon Insurance Group LLC as president of its management liability business unit. He most recently served as chief underwriting officer of the executive liability practice for Great American Insurance Group.
Woodruff Sawyer has announced that following appointments:
- Zac Overbay - chief operating officer
- Norman Allen - chief revenue officer
Wave Insurance Technologies Inc. dba AVYST, a Dallas and Aurora, Colo.-based company providing sales and risk management solutions for independent insurance agents, brokers and carriers, has announced that Kitty Ambers has joined the company as chief growth officer. She joins AVYST from the Network of Vertafore Users (NetVU) where she served as CEO.
Steve Arrowsmith has been appointed executive vice president, head of client services at Willis Towers Watson. He previously served as executive chairman for JLT Insurance Management (Bermuda) Limited.
Willis Towers Watson also appointed Jonathan Oppenheim regional construction leader in its Southeast region, part of the company’s North American Construction business. He joins from JLT Specialty U.S.A. where he most recently served as partner in its construction risk partners business.
Anshuman Purohit has been appointed chief technology officer for CastleBay Companies, a high-impact consulting service to the insurance market. Before joining CastleBay, Purohit held strategic technology roles at companies such as Aimco, RelevanceLogic Inc. and StoneRiver.
Allianz has announced three senior leadership appointments:
- Birgit König - will head the international unit Allianz Digital Health, effective April 1, 2019
- Nina Klingspor - CEO of Allianz Private Krankenversicherung and member of the board of management of Allianz Deutschland, effective April 1, 2019
- Claire-Marie Coste-Lepoutre - will join the board of management of Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty SE as the new chief financial officer, effective March 1, 2019
CSAA Insurance Group, a AAA insurer, has named Katherine Evans vice president of regulatory and government affairs. Before this, Evans was an insurance regulatory partner with the law firm Dentons.
Digital insurance broker Mylo has appointed Jon Carlson chief operating officer. Before this, he worked for three years at C2FO where he was vice president of operations.
Greg Soden has joined Optisure Risk Partners as vice president of revenue development. Soden was executive vice president at Brown & Brown Insurance for seven years prior to joining Optisure.
MetLife Inc. has named Darla Finchum head of MetLife Auto & Home, the company’s U.S. property & casualty business. Finchum, who has been serving in this role on an interim basis since August 2018, previously served as chief claims officer for MetLife Auto & home.
Roger H. Schmelzer has been selected to serve as chairman of the International Forum of Insurance Guarantee Schemes (IFIGS). He is currently the president and CEO of the National Conference of Insurance Guaranty Funds and has represented the U.S. as members of IFIGS since 2012.
The board of directors of American International Group Inc. has elected Thomas Firouz Motamed as a director. He has also been appointed to the board’s Risk & Capital Committee and the Compensation & Management Resources Committee.
AF Group has announced the following promotions:
- Abel Travis - vice president, underwriting & product innovation
- Keri Kittmann - vice president, servicing carrier operations
- Mitch Walsh - vice president, servicing carrier operations
- Becky Holnagel - chief actuary
- Jacob Geyer - vice president, AF specialty; vice president, business analytics and underwriting operations
