The historic Camp, Woolsey and Hill fires in northern and southern California took the lives of 88 people and destroyed nearly 20,000 homes.

Now, weeks after the fires, the California Department of Insurance has released early insured loss numbers, putting the cost of the destruction at $9.05 billion. Experts note they expect this number to rise as more claims are filed and processed.
