People on the move in the P&C insurance industry: Dec. 7, 2018

Searchlight Capital Partners has appointed Michael Belfatti as a senior advisor. Belfatti, who will be involved at a senior level in Searchlight’s insurance and financial services activities, previously served as chief operating officer of Greenlight Re, a specialist property & casualty reinsurance company.

Joe Reynolds has been named an assistant vice president in the national environment and construction professional liability practice at RT Specialty/New Day. He previously served as vice president – architects & engineers product head at Hiscox Insurance.

WFKC Underwriting Managers and CorRisk Solutions have announced that Joseph Girardi has joined CorRisk as senior vice president – specialty casualty. Before this, he served as senior vice president for Ironshore Insurance Services.

Sachin N Shah has been appointed CEO of Asia Pacific, AIG General Insurance, effective end of December 2018. Most recently, Shah served as chairman, president and CEO of MetLife Japan, a position he held since 2013.

Hotchkiss Insurance, a full-service independent agency, has announced the following appointments:

• Chris Hamilton - employee benefits practice leader
• Natalie Cooper - account executive

CyberScout, a leader in cybersecurity, identity and privacy protection, and risk mangaement services, has appointed Brian Ebert as the company’s newest board member. He currently serves as Special Agent in Charge of the United States Secret Service’s Washington Field Office.

Leandro DalleMule has joined Planck Resolution, an AI-based data platform for commercial, as general manager, North America. Prior to joining Planck Resolution, DalleMule was the chief data officer and head of information management at AIG.

Swiss Re Corporate Solutions has appointed Philippe Aerni global head casualty, financial & professional lines, effective Jan. 1, 2019. He joined Swiss Re in 2003 and most recently served as head financial & professional lines.

Bala Viswanathan has been named chief operating officer at Mercer. Before this, he served as CEO of Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group plc’s U.K. & Ireland employee benefits.

Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) has announced that Wanda Phillips will function as the new North America regional head of entertainment, effective Jan. 1, 2019. She joined AGCS in 2016 as a senior underwriting team leader.

Ethos has appointed Phil Murphy its first vice president of insurance. Prior to joining Ethos, Murphy was the second vice president at Munich American Reassurance Company, a position he held for over 8 years.
